About us
Campervan hire in New Zealand, run by a family
Hi, we're Lauran and Nikki. For years we dreamed of leaving the Netherlands behind and living closer to nature. In February 2024 we came to New Zealand in a campervan to see it for ourselves, and fell for it completely. Somewhere along the way, “one day” turned into “why not now,” so we made Aotearoa home, our son Ollie included.
JustGoodCampers is how we share the country that captured us. When you pick up your camper in Auckland or Christchurch, it's already packed and ready, and the price you saw is the price you pay. We're small on purpose: message us and you're talking to us, not a call centre.

JustGoodCampers is a small, family-owned camper hire business based in Auckland. We rent out two fully equipped campervans for self-drive trips across New Zealand — a compact 2-berth for couples, and a larger 4-berth for families or small groups. Both are packed and ready when you collect them.
Every rental comes stocked with bedding, cooking gear, camp chairs, a cleaning kit, luggage storage, and an airport transfer — all included in the price. No add-on packages, no surprise charges when you show up. The price on the website is the price you pay.
Both campervans carry a current NZ Certificate of Self-Containment, which means you can freedom camp at designated spots around the country — not just holiday parks. That opens up a lot of New Zealand. Tongariro, the Catlins, the Otago Peninsula, Abel Tasman. You're not tied to a grid.
We do pickups from Auckland. Being a small team means we can actually talk to you — not send you to a call centre or a FAQ page. If you've got questions about where to go, what the roads are like, or whether the South Island is doable in two weeks, just send us a message. We know the country well and we like helping people plan their trips.
