Motorhome rental in New Zealand with JustGoodCampers

Looking for a motorhome rental in New Zealand? Our 4-berth is a European-built Laika L3019 — a proper coach-built motorhome with a full kitchen, a fixed double bed, an onboard toilet and shower, and heating, sleeping up to four. For couples, the compact 2-berth is easier still to drive. Both are fully self-contained.

We keep it simple and honest. Every motorhome comes stocked with bedding, cooking gear, camp chairs and a cleaning kit, with an airport transfer and luggage storage included — no add-on packages, no surprises at pickup. We're a small family team based in Auckland, so you always reach a real person.

Because both vehicles carry a current NZ Certificate of Self-Containment, you can freedom camp at designated spots right across the country — not just holiday parks. That's the difference a self-contained motorhome makes: you wake up beside the lake, not in a car park.

Motorhome, campervan, RV — people call them different things, but the question is the same: what's the easiest, most comfortable way to see New Zealand? We think it's a well-equipped, self-contained motorhome you can actually drive with confidence, from a team who'll help you plan the trip.

What travellers say

We loved how simple everything was. No confusing extras, just a comfortable camper and honest service. Being able to store our empty luggage was a huge bonus.

From the first contact to returning the camper, everything felt easy and well organised. Friendly people, clear communication and a great setup.

Common questions

Both terms fit. It's a European coach-built Laika L3019 motorhome — larger and more comfortable than a van conversion, with a full kitchen, toilet, shower and heating — but compact enough to drive easily on New Zealand roads.

The 4-berth sleeps up to four, with a fixed double bed and a convertible dinette — ideal for a family. Couples usually prefer the compact 2-berth.

No. Both vehicles are under 6,000 kg gross, so a standard car licence is enough — plus an international permit or translation if yours isn't in English. The 4-berth is an automatic.

Yes. Both are certified self-contained, so you can freedom camp at designated sites across New Zealand under the Freedom Camping Act, not just at holiday parks.
